In 2022, the Dingo Brewing Co was proposed to be established in a new building at 47 Pakenham Street. The proposal was withdrawn in July.

There is opposition to the proposal. One instance is the email sent by President John Dowson to the mailing list of the Fremantle Society. It includes points made by local residents. Another is the Fremantle Shipping News piece written by Brian Stoddart.
The West Australian has written about the proposed tavern in approving terms (8 June 2022).
