The wall near the corner of William and Henderson Streets was quite likely built by convict labour in the 1850s. It was demolished in August 2022 to allow the building of a new glass-box 'boutique' ( = cheap) hotel to be built by an Andrew Forrest company. At the time it was destroyed it was forming the back of a building fronting onto Henderson Street, but it was probably much older than the building (which was a pine furniture sales shop) and may have been a boundary of some kind.
