The website states that "The Uniting Church formed in 1977 as a union of Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational churches." The Maylands Presbyterian Church (in Seventh Avenue, 1904, brick) was desanctified in 1975. The Methodist church was in Sixth Avenue (1902, wooden, no longer exists). There was no Congregational church in Maylands.
