Fred Jones Reserve in Melville is on Canning Highway where Carrington Street meets it. Fred Jones Reserve is named after an old ratepayer who personally maintained the Reserve for many years. The late Mr Jones was a keen gardener who sought Council permission to develop and maintain the Reserve, which was later named in his honour. (Melville Council text) The name was approved 14 August 1983 and gazetted 6 April 1984.
Thanks to Pathika Jones for drawing my attention to this park, which is named after a member of her family: see also David Jones Family.
