They were nothing
but trouble those
diasporan memories
versions of the past
wheels lift off
whispers exilic nostalgia
illuminating images
of return
dense masses fell away
said elsewhere by me
having brought nothing
but limited happiness
an old narrative
inhabiting peripheries
standing in for
an absence of regret
hints toward sonority
imagining
smooth transits
insinuates a tone
a nuance
which distils time
into ink
Not that an artefact
mirrors such phenomena
arrays of personae
vibrant vagrant characters
queuing to speak
activating such a voice
of her former allusions
step up here now
hands and bow
It may seem so
in memory
identifying desires
had been in water
for weeks
those contours of knowledge
grafted on word for word
over shifting ground
vistas passing through
